THANK YOU!!!!

The state fair is here and the boys love to go. who doesn't? but Irwin and I talked and decided that we were not going this year. we just didn't have the money and all the holidays coming up we were just not going to say anything about it. we talked about this on Thursday night. Friday morning Irwin called me from work and said " you'll never guess what I just found on my desk". Some one had left 2 admission tickets and 7 books containing 18 tickets each book for rides, for the state fair. How about that for showing love to others. I know the blessing was not that we got to go to the fair, but that someone took the time to see the needs of another family and that our kids were able to see first hand how some one took the time to show love to our family. I know everyone can not afford to send another family to the fair, but it can be as little as a card(thanks Kory) that brightens a persons day. So thank you to those that take the time to think of others and send a thank you card or give tickets to an event that a family might have not gotten to attend with out your special kindness:o)

Self defense!

We had an enrichment night last night at church. It was lots of fun. Brother Deaver, who works for the SBI came and taught us some defenses that we can use in most curcumstances. I actually enjoy learning how to hurt someone. When I was in college I took a self defense class and loved it, but have never had the chance to use it. that is the bad part about it all I think. When it actually happens to you , will you be able to respond since you have had little or no practice. Ever since I have taken the classes in collegeI am always aware of my surroundings and I have drilled my kids a numerous amount of times because when we moved to raleigh I was terrified. I think they know what to do and I know what to do ,but I think it would be helpful if we had someone that would actually try to attack us and see how we react. So mabey we can get Brother Deaver to do this , just to test us. You know, catch us off guard and see what happens. Mabey even Brother welendorf would do it as well. I mean if bro. deaver is willing to pepper spray himself time and time again for his classes we might be able to talk him in to it. What do you think ladies? oh yea and where were some of you last night we missed you. Everybody needs self defense. Bro deaver actually gave Nancy the real from behind choke to see if she could breathe. she was a trooper and succeded and then she told me she biked to the church which ment she would be biking home in the dark. crazy woman!!

Mr. Thrifty

If you know my husband at all, this will be so funny to you. Irwin had a second job working at a car rental place, Talk about boring. Then he came home one day and said all the part timers got layed off. Me and the boys were soooo happy because we would actually get a chance to see Irwin again. So he looked and looked for jobs and found one for parking security. I figured he would find something easy like book keeping for someone on the side or something, but NO. He decided he would take this job because it means that if he does the parking then he gets into all the events for FREE. so if you know Irwin you know that is his favorite word in the world ( well mabey not his FAVORITE). His most happiest moment was when he realized that he would actually get to get in to see the carolina/DUKE game. and not just get in,but get in free. So he says it is being thrifty but I call it just right out cheep, but smart I guess. Oh the things our kids will tell their kids one day.

Knocked Out!!

Irwin's day off is wednesday's. This Wed. Irwin watched Tellis pretty much the whole day so I could get some things done on the computer for Primary. When I finally came out of my room I found Irwin asleep and tellis had dressed him up with a batman belt on his leg and a transformer mask on his face. Avery and Tellis dress up all the time. Avery has figured out that spiderman wears his costume under his clothes, so ofcourse that is what Avery does as soon as he gets home he puts on his costume a long sleved shirt and jeans so it can be fully covered. Now he has found a dress coat that use to be baileys and puts that on aswell . That will be my next pic. I'm sure. When Chris was little he use to put curlers in Irwin's dads hair when he fell asleep. It was the cutest thing.
